Basic Rules
Apart from the basic rules listed below, all the rules set by international R&A and USGA or Chinese Golf Association should be obeyed by every golf player.
Ⅰ Water Hazards
1.1 All the artificial lakes within golf course are water hazards. The players should hit again at the site where the ball drops into water and one penalty is recorded.
1.2 If the ball falls into water at the first stroke at Hole 6, 12, 16A, hit again directly at the especially set dropping area in front and one penalty is recorded.
Ⅱ Out-bounded
2.1 All balls out of the fences or the OB stakes are out-bounded balls. The player must hit again at the original site and one penalty is recorded.
2.2 If the ball is lost at the Tee where there is dropping area - Hole 6, 12, 16A and 17, i.e. the ball falls into water, ditches or on hills, hit again at the dropping area and one penalty is recorded.
2.3 If the ball is lost on the fairway, i.e. the ball falls into water, ditches or on hills, hit again at the site and there’s no penalty.
Ⅲ Flowerbeds, renovating areas and unmovable obstacles
3.1 All balls falling into flowerbeds are not allowed to hit. The player must pick up the ball and hit at the side of the flowerbed and there is no penalty.
3.2 If the ball hits light poles, controlling boxes or unmovable constructions, the player could opt to give up the ball and hit again at the same place, and there is no penalty.
3.3 The slops on the left side of Hole 3 and the right side of Hole 7 can be regarded as renovating areas and the player could opt to hit again without penalty.
Ⅳ Balls sinking into the ground
If the ball sinks into the ground due to gravity while landing on the fairway, the player could pick up the ball, clean it, and drop it within one par away from the landing point and against the hole. There’s no penalty.
Ⅴ Temporary ponding area
Temporary ponding area includes all tentative water areas visible but the specified water hazards are not included. While the ball is right in the temporary ponding area or any part of the ball touches the water, the player is allowed to hit again and there’s no penalty.
Ⅵ Apart from the factors mentioned above, no ball is allowed to be moved and one penalty will be recorded every time the ball is moved.
VII If the imprint or dent of the ball on the green is not repaired, two putting penalties will be recorded.
VIII If the club touches or levels the sand before striking on the bunker, two penalties will be recorded.
1
Hole 1 is a dog-leg hole right with bunkers and hills on its right making it impossible to take short-cut. The fairway to the Green is invaded by bunkers on both sides so the fairway is very narrow and since the Green could not been seen, Hole 1 becomes quite challenging for golfers. Be aware that there’s no OB on the left side.
2
There are steep slopes on both left and right sides and there are ditches in the front and at the back, even the only small land of fairway in front of the Green is majorly taken place by a bunker. It is safer to strike towards right but it will be further from the hole cup. Except a hard swing to send the ball directly to the Green, there’s no other better choice.
3
The biggest challenge of this hole lies in the first and second strokes. The fairway is narrow with a steep slope on the left, a deep ditch on the right and bunkers around the Green. All these become hazards to golfers.
4
The key for success of this hole is to choose the best dropping point. Be aware of the bunkers laying around at the first dropping area and the ditch crossing the fairway at the second and third stokes.
5
The tip for this hole is to strike as far as enough, of course, on the premise that the ditches winding the fairway and the hidden bunkers be avoided.
6
The Tee and the Green are completely cut off by a beautiful artificial lake. The scenery is charming and it’s also quite a challenging fairway to golfers. In addition to the bunker invading the narrow fairway in front of the Green, the design makes this hole a challenge even to the most sophisticated players.
7
This is a long fairway with gentle upslope. The best way to conquer this Par5 hole is to strike hard. This hole tests the players’ strength and skills to avoid bunkers and drop ball onto the Green. Be aware that there is no OB stake on the right.
8
Standing at the Tee, the whole picture of the fairway is within view. Try to avoid the eagle-like bunkers and be aware of the dangerous steep slope at the back of the Green. This fairway will bring you good luck.
9
This is an easy hole with wide fairway and few hazards. Only the bunkers on the left and right of the Green add little trouble to the players.
10
The challenge of this hole is the second and third strokes. It requires the first swing to across a lake and drop at 220 yards away from the Green. It’s a real challenge to the players. Be aware, there is no OB stake on the right or in the south. A conservative player can be on Green after the 3rd or 4th stroke.
11
The Green is surrounded by the water hazards on three sides and it is easy to drop the ball in water if the second swing is right-towarded or too hard. The narrow space on the left of Green is also occupied by four bunkers. The design of this hole adds difficult to the players. It challenges the golfers not only in terms of skill but also psychologically.
12
The best way to win this hole is to send the ball directly to the Green across the wide lake and the bunker in front of the Green by the first swing. However, with pity, most players choose to land the ball on the safe ground on the right of the Green.
13
The fairway of this hole is very wide providing enough dropping area for players. If the bunkers could be avoided, there’s not much difficult to conquers this hole.
14
There are mountain on the left and dunes on the right of the fairway. While hitting the ball across the arbutus mark at the first swing, be aware of the bunker on the right at the back of the Tree at the same time. There is a ditch between the second dropping point and the Green and the tall shrubs along the ditch add difficulties to the players who drop the ball right-deviated.
15
This is a wide-angled dogleg left and the forest on the left makes no short cut for players. To maintain the Par, the first swing must reach beyond the bunker, while for the second swing only the bunker on the front-left of the Green should be bewared.
16A
With not much leeway, the best strategy is on to the Green by one swing.
16B
16B, named “wonder hole in another world”, is regarded as the most interesting hole of Delson golf course. There is steep fall between the Tee and the Green. On to the Green by one swing from the Gold Tee or Blue Tee, the entire view of the course is in front of you.
17
Featured by long and narrow fairway, this hold is named “Monster Hole”. The first swing tests the golfers’ straight hitting skill and if the player could make good use of middle and long swing and avoid the bunker on the left of the fairway, this hole is of no difficult to players.
18
The fairway of this hole is spacious though invaded by three small bunkers. There are also quite a few hazards surrounding the Green, but an aggressive golfer could be on to the Green after two or three swings and conclude the entire game with a splendid BIRDIE or PAR. Be aware that there’s no OB on the right.
